Day 1 - Meet in Anchorage, spectacular drive to Whittier for the start of 3-day sea kayaking trip in Prince William Sound.
Day 2 - Continue kayaking to Blackstone Bay
Day 3 - A short paddle trip then pick up by water taxi for return to Whittier. Dinner out and relax with a hot shower and comfy bed in an inn.
Day 4 - Fly-in bear viewing trip! At the end of the day head north to the Matanuska Valley for a stay at our homestead at Kings River (KR). (Sleep in comfortable wall tents.
Day 5 - Learn ice climbing and explore a glacier. Alaska style barbecue and soak in the hot tub back at KR for the night.
Day 6 - Day hiking in the high alpine of the Talkeetna Range and scenic drive to Talkeetna. Overnight at the historic Roadhouse.
Day 7 - If the weather is good, take a spectacular flight seeing trip over the Alaska Range (optional). Then drive to Denali and enjoy a hike before setting up camp at a campground near the park entrance.
Day 8 - Looking for wildlife from the park bus. Great scenery and best chances of viewing animals safely.
Day 9 - Return to Anchorage, possible stop to meet some sled dogs.
A great trip packing in many of the big highlights of Alaska...sea kayaking, looking for bears on a fly-in trip, ice climbing and a visit to Denali National Park. (Michael and Jean came back the following year for even more Alaska adventure with their Guide Danny!)
This itinerary is easily modified with additional nights at an inn or B&B.

Challenge: 3-4, Some primitive camping while sea kayaking.
Accommodation: 2 nights in an inn or B&B, 4 nights in campgrounds, 2 nights primitive camping.
Cost: Approximately $8400 for 2 guests.
