Trip Schedule

Activities and Accommodation. All listed activities and destinations are not included on all trips.
Please carefully read the itinerary.

Sea Kayaking - (three days/two nights)
Day 1 -- We’ll meet you in Anchorage, and after a gear check and orientation, you'll enjoy one of the most scenic drives in the world as we head towards the small town of Whittier, the gateway to Prince William Sound. The afternoon will be spent paddling past waterfalls and bird rookeries then on to our campsite in the rainforest.
Day 2 -- Paddle past glaciers and ice bergs, look for seals, sea otters and more. Camp on a remote beach.
Day 3 -- Continue exploring as we make our way to our pick up point for a water taxi back to Whittier. More on kayaking

Day Hiking – If you're on an "Extreme" trip, expect to get going early and move fast. The goal is often to get high above tree-line for some great views and exercise.
"Exposed" trips will often back it down a notch but still get out there to explore and enjoy the backcountry.

Whitewater Rafting -- Our trips include various rivers:
Six Mile Creek: Class IV and V rapids. Not for the faint-hearted!
Lion's Head: Class III & IV glacier-fed action.
Nenana: Class III & IV canyon run at Denali. More on rafting

Glacier Trekking & Ice Climbing – Explore the Matanuska Glacier and try out the exciting sport of ice climbing. Our step-by-step approach will have you scaling vertical walls of ice by the end of the day. Bottomless crevasses and towering seracs make for impressive photos. More on ice climbing

Denali Truck Safari -- Climb onto a "monster truck" for a unique way to explore Denali National Park. Look for wildlife as you cross rivers and climb mountains far from the tourist crowds in the developed area of the Park. More on Denali National Park

Denali Bus Tour – The bus is a safe way to see wildlife in Denali. During the ride we’ll be looking for bear, moose, caribou, fox and everything else. More on Denali National Park

Backpacking – This is the activity that will set you apart from the "tourists". Hike out into the wilderness with everything you need on your back. We offer two varieties:
Challenging means you need to be pretty fit and ready to hike fast for some long days in the mountains.
Beginner trips are at an easier pace for shorter distances, likely just one night out to experience the pleasure of waking up to a great cup of coffee and view in the middle of nowhere. More on backpacking

Zipline - Climb the three-story high tower, enjoy the view of the mountains and river far below, then step off and fly. One big zip over a 1/4 mile long. More on zipline (Max. Weight 235 pounds).

Camping - Remote Camping means you're out there in the wilderness. Few other people and no bathrooms.
Campground Camping means staying in an established campground with toilets of some sort, maybe even a shower.

Homestead - Our homestead and Base Camp is between the Matanuska glacier and Anchorage. It's nothing too elaborate but you can sample a little of our "off the grid" lifestyle. We have comfortable cabin tents equipped with cots and foam mattresses and a wood-fired hot tub for relaxing after a hard day in the outdoors. Our other guests sometimes include moose and bear wandering through our "yard".

Talkeetna - You'll be feeling a little hard-core as we roll into this quirky little town; what many people think of when they envision Alaska. Join the list of famous expeditioners who've enjoyed the pleasures of Talkeetna after a big trip in the mountains. You'll stay at an inn or cabin for the night and enjoy a hot shower, comfy bed, dinner out and some Talkeetna nightlife.

This town stop is one of the few opportunities on our trips for optional activities such as flight seeing that are not included in your package with us.
